O Canada!

Anna was waving the flag on her first Canada Day, where we met up with friends to take in some of the Vancouver Jazz Festival down by False Creek. Notice that Sophia and Anna are the only patriotic ones in the bunch. Although, I admit the 'Wedding Night in Canada' t-shirt did make a brief appearance.

The music and excitement made for a tired peanut, who didn't even have the energy to take her thumb out of her mouth before falling fast asleep on the walk back over the Cambie St. bridge. This is a recent discovery that has really taken hold over the past couple of weeks. Nothing beats the thumb. I am even beginning to think that Anna could survive quite well on her own at this point, since her thumb seems to provide endless enjoyment. And I am all for it. I'm sure I will have to think of some sort of bribe when she is still sucking it at age 8, but I've got time to worry about that yet.
