Axl reincarnated

Amazing that a Bambi receiving blanket can be fashioned into a bandana-style headdress when the need arises. Mike was trying to teach Anna to do Horns of the Devil, but I think she's still a bit too young to grasp the concept.

We had a great time on Galiano Island this past weekend. Saw a pod of orcas and seals basking in the sun in Active Pass, spotted an eaglet from a trail overlooking its nest, and touched something significant and very much alive with my fingertips while swimming off Shell Beach in Montague Provincial Park. Haven't freestyled that fast since Ironman.

We stayed at the Eagles' Nest Retreat, where Anna was an honoured guest at her first wedding and got her first taste of kick-boxing action. Next time she'll have to stick to her own weight class.

Anna also managed to bag her first peak this weekend: Mt Galiano, reaching the lofty height of 341 m! The sling worked well, although to accomodate napping we had to change positions a couple of times. Breaking 1000 m might have to wait until we're below the current 3 to 4 naps a day.
